Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Jetdocs Inc., an Ontario corporation operating under the trade name Gerald (“Gerald”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you use this site or ask Gerald to arrange work at your property. By submitting a request you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.

What Gerald does

Gerald coordinates home services. You tell us what you need, we recommend an option, and we arrange for a vetted independent local business (an “operator”) to carry out the work. Gerald is your single point of contact throughout: we quote, schedule, keep you updated, bill you, and handle problems.

Operators are independent contractors who supply their own labour, tools, insurance and licensing. They are not our employees, agents or partners, and nothing here creates a partnership, joint venture or employment relationship between us.

Requests, quotes and bookings

• Submitting a request is a request for service. It is not a booking, and nothing is confirmed until we confirm the scope, timing and price with you.
• Any estimate is based entirely on the information and photos you give us. If the job on arrival is materially different—more volume, restricted access, hidden damage, additional work—we will tell you the revised price before continuing, and you can decline.
• Timing windows are targets, not guarantees. Weather, traffic, earlier jobs running long and supply delays all move schedules, and we will keep you posted when they do.
• We may decline or discontinue any request, at our discretion, including where a job is unsafe, unlawful, outside our service area, or outside what our operators can competently do.

Your responsibilities

• Give accurate, complete information about the job, the property and access to it.
• Ensure safe and lawful access at the agreed time, and that you have the authority to have the work done—including landlord, condominium board, or co-owner permission where it is needed.
• Secure pets, and move or flag valuables, fragile items and anything you do not want touched. Tell us in advance about hazards: unstable structures, faulty wiring, mould, asbestos, pests or biohazards.
• Confirm that anything you ask us to take away is yours to dispose of.
• Be present or reachable for the visit if the job needs decisions made on site.

What we cannot handle

Some materials and jobs are excluded for legal, safety or insurance reasons—including hazardous waste, asbestos, chemicals, fuels, solvents, paint, propane and other pressurized tanks, biohazards, and anything requiring a licence or permit we or the operator do not hold. If something in your request falls outside what we can take on, we will tell you and, where we can, point you to the right route.

Pricing and payment

• You pay Gerald directly, not the operator. Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• Invoices are due on the terms set out on the invoice itself. Anything else about payment—deposits, instalments, or a charge on an overdue amount—is disclosed to you before you commit. We do not apply a charge you have not agreed to.

Changing or cancelling a job

Tell us as early as you can and we will do what we can to move or cancel the visit. The cancellation terms for your job are the ones we confirm with you when it is booked, and we will not apply a charge we have not told you about in advance.

If something goes wrong

Tell us. Gerald is your point of contact for any problem with the work, and we would rather hear about it early, while the cause is still establishable. We will look into it with you and the operator and agree how to put it right. What that looks like depends on the job. Nothing here is a warranty, or a promise of a particular remedy or timeframe.

Reviews, photos and feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you. We may photograph completed work for quality purposes. We will not publish identifiable images of your property or use them in marketing without your permission.

Acceptable use

Don't use this site to submit false or fraudulent requests, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape it at scale, or use the Gerald assistant for anything other than arranging home services. We may suspend or refuse service for any of the above.

Our content

The Gerald name, logo, site content and design are owned by Jetdocs Inc. and may not be copied or used without permission. You keep ownership of the information and photos you send us, and you grant us the licence needed to use them to deliver the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The site and any recommendation generated by the Gerald assistant are provided on an “as is” basis. A recommendation is a starting point based on what you have told us, not professional advice—it is not a substitute for an inspection, an engineer, an electrician, or any other licensed professional. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited—including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Gerald and Jetdocs Inc. against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from information you gave us that was materially inaccurate, or from your having work done at a property where you did not have the authority to authorize it.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we each consent to venue there. Before starting a proceeding, please contact us—most problems are faster to fix directly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect for your job is the one published when you submitted that request. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated terms for future requests.

General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any quote or invoice we issue, are the entire agreement between us.
